Getting Started - How to Access Your Garry's Mod Server and Control Panel



Have you purchased your Garry's Mod server at GGServers? Here’s how to get started!

GGServers offers full access to your game server control panel, where users can manage everything that happens on the server.

This article will show the first steps for joining your server and using the game server panel to manage it.

To access your game server panel, you need to follow the next steps:

Log in to your billing account here.


Click on your customer's profile button, then on Email History.

Click on the first option, Your Game Server Details, and you'll see your server information and the game server panel credentials as well.


Note your credentials and server connection details, then go here to log in. You can find the game server panel link in the welcome email as well.

NOTE ⚠: Your server connection details will be used to join your server further in the guide.


Use the credentials from the last step and log in.

Log In

Now, you've just logged in to your game server panel, where you can see and manage your server.


After logging in, you will be able to find all your instances (game servers). Click on the Garry's Mod instance to see the connection details or to start or stop it. You can also click on Manage to customize and make changes to your server.

Before you start playing, you will have to click on the Manage button mentioned in the last step, then on the Update button.

To find your server name and game mode, click on Configuration on the left-side menu, then click on Source Server Settings. Find the sections titled Server Name and Game Mode, change them to what you want, and then note them. The changes will be automatically saved once you type a different name in the server name or game mode text boxes.

NOTE ⚠: Your server name will be used to join your server further in the guide.

If you click on the Garry's Mod instance, then on the Manage button, a new page will open where you can fully manage your server. Also, a new menu will pop up where you can select between multiple options, such as Console to see the server logs or File Manager to access your server files.

🚀 How Do I Join My Garry's Mod Server 🚀



You can connect to your server via your game server panel, using the official server list, or by adding the server to Steam.


💠 Game Server Panel



To join your server, you will have to:

Log in to your game server panel here.

Log In


Click on the Garry's Mod instance, then click on the Manage button.

Click on the icon located after the View Connection Details button, then click on Open Link.

Click on Join Game.

💠 Community Server List



You will have to use the server name and game mode that you noted in step eight to connect to your server, as shown below:

Start Garry's Mod, then click on Find Multiplayer Game.

Select the appropriate game mode according to the one your server is running.

Fill in your server name in the search bar.

Search


Find your server, click on it, and then click on Join Server.

Now, you've just connected to your Garry's Mod server!


💠 Steam



To manually add your server to Steam, you will have to use the server connection details (IP and port) that you noted in step four, as shown below:

Open your Steam client and click on View, then on Servers.

Click on FAVORITES.

Favorites


Click on Add A Server and put your server connection details (IP:port) there in the address box. Then click on ADD THIS ADDRESS TO FAVORITES.

Now click on REFRESH, select the server you added, and click on Connect.
