How to Install Mods Into Your Client

This guide will show you how to properly install mods into your client/machine.

NOTE: If you have a Forge or Fabric modded server with a few mods added for example you need to also install Forge/Fabric and the mods into your client to be able to join.
Warning! Using A Modpack? If so, then you can usually search for a download of your modpack instead of following this guide!
Warning! Using TLauncher? If so, then you must select the version of Forge/Fabric you want to use manually (and update it manually also!)

๐Ÿ”Œ Installing Forge ๐Ÿ”Œ

To install Forge you need to first download the installer from the official page.

NOTE: You need to select the same version that your server is running.

After you downloaded the installer, just run it into your PC and install Forge.

Be sure to check the Install client box.

NOTE: If you have installed Minecraft in a different folder than the default one, then you need to manually set the path to the custom Minecraft destination folder. If you installed the game in the default location, then you do not have to modify anything.

Now you just installed Forge into your client. To launch it just open the Minecraft launcher and select Forge.

๐Ÿ”Œ Installing Fabric ๐Ÿ”Œ

To install Fabric you need to first download the installer from the official page.

After you downloaded the installer, just run it into your PC and install the same Fabric version as the one on your server.

Make sure you have the Client option selected.

NOTE: If you have installed Minecraft in a different folder than the default one, then you need to manually set the path to the custom Minecraft destination folder. If you installed the game in the default location, then you do not have to modify anything.

Now you just installed Fabric into your client. To launch it just open the Minecraft launcher and select the Fabric Profile.

๐Ÿ”ฉ Installing Mods ๐Ÿ”ฉ

To add mods to your client, you need to open your local 'mods' folder and add all mods you want there. After doing so, just launch the game with Forge/Fabric, and your mods will be there.

NOTE: Forge mods are not compatible with Fabric and the other way around. You need to make sure that you only install the mods required by your mod loader (Fabric/Forge).

To find your local 'mods' folder you need to go to your Minecraft installation folder. The default one can be found by doing the following:

Press the Windows button and type run, then press Enter.
Type in the box that appears the following, then press Enter: %appdata%\.minecraft
