How to Make a Backup and Download It on Your Bedrock Server

Do you want to save your files safely and have a copy? Then it is recommended to always have a backup! This article will show you how to make one.

Note that we recommend you do a backup anytime before changing the server type!

Also, please note that autosaves are not backups, these overwrite the already saved files in the world folder so the server can keep up with your progress. So autosaves are not backups and you can not restore them.

We have a guide explaining the difference between autosaves and a backup here.

Also, please note that on Bedrock servers, the world name needs to be made only from numbers and letters, otherwise the backup tool will not work properly.

💾 How to Create a Backup 💾

To create a backup please do the following:

Login in your Multicraft Panel here and stop your server.

Click on Files, then on Backup World.

Click on Bedrock Backup.

Click on Create Backup.

NOTE: Your server will keep just the latest three backups.

Once this is done you’ll be able to see your backup in the Restore section in your Multicraft control panel or in your FTP File Access as well.

Note that the backups are saved as ZIP files in the folder called bedrock-backups from your root directory of the server.

📁 How to Download My Backup 📁

To download your backup you need to:

Use Filezilla to connect to your server as our guide tells here.

Click on the folder called bedrock-backups folder.

Download the ZIP backup.

Note that you need to use Filezilla to download the backup.

If you find any issues backing up your world please contact us on live chat or via the ticket system.
