How to Set Up and Use Magma (Plugins & Mods on 1.12.2 & 1.16.5)

The new server type Magma allows you to run both mods and plugins at the same time on a server.

This article should help you with how you can install and use it on your server.

❓ What is Magma ❓

Developed by the Magma Foundation team, Magma is a fork based on Forge and Paper, allowing users to run both Forge mods and Bukkit/ Spigot plugins at the same time.

Magma is also known as Cauldron 1.12 because of the functionality and easy-to-use similarity with past Cauldron versions that were only available for 1.6.4 servers.

But be careful!

Magma is currently providing versions just for Minecraft 1.12.2 and 1.16.5!
Be sure that all mods and plugins you want to set up are providing a version for the 1.12.2 or 1.16.5 Minecraft versions.

NOTE: Magma is still under development and there may be a compatibility issue between the mods and plugins you add.
