The new server type Magma allows you to run both Mods and Plugins at the same time on a server.
This article should help you with how you can install and use it on your server.
❓ What is Magma ❓
Developed by the Magma Foundation team, Magma is a fork based on Forge and PaperSpigot, allowing users to run both Forge Mods and CraftBukkit/Spigot Plugins at the same time.
Magma is also known as Cauldron 1.12 because of the functionality and easy-to-use similarity with past Cauldron versions that were only available for 1.6.4 servers.
⚠ But be careful! ⚠
Magma version is currently running on 1.12.2!
Before starting your server, please, double-check if you've installed all Mods and Plugins: those must be able to run on 1.12.2!
NOTE: Magma is still under development and there may be a compatibility issue between the mods and plugins you add.
🎴 How to Install Magma 🎴
You can set up Magma into your server from the start, meaning on a server without any progress on it, or change from an existing modpack to Magma to be able to add plugins (meaning on a server that already has progress on it).
💠 Installing Magma Alone
To install Magma into your server from the start please do the following steps:
Log in to your Multicraft panel here and stop your server.
Click on Files and then on Setup.
Select Magma as Template, then check the Delete All Server Files box and type your Multicraft password.
Click on Apply, then go back to your main Multicraft page and start your server.
NOTE: The setup will start at the first server start, so be sure to start your server after setting the Setup.
Now you just set up Magma on a clean new server and you will have to add your mods and plugins.
💠 Installing Magma on an Existing Modpack
If you are already running a 1.12.2 modpack and you just want to change it to Magma without losing your progress please do the following:
Log in to your Multicraft account here and stop your server.
Click on Server Type and select Magma.
Click on Save and start your server.
Now you just changed your modded server to Magma without losing your files.
🔎 How to Add Mods 🔎
To add mods to your server you need to upload the mods to your 'mods' folder of the server using Filezilla, then restart the server as you would normally do for a modded 1.12.2 server.

To add plugins to your server you need to upload the plugins to the 'plugins' folder of the server using Filezilla, then restart the server as you would normally do for a 1.12.2 plugins server.
Here is our guide for installing plugins into your server.
NOTE: You can use the /plugins to see the active plugins of the server.
🔩 Client-Side Set Up 🔩
To connect to a 1.12.2 Magma server you just need to set up Forge 1.12.2 into your PC and the mods that the server is running.
